Heather C asked:
Allergy and respiration problems at home, and by doctors advise, I am giving up my beloved pet. Had I lived in a house where the cat could roam freely outdoors at times, this may not have become a problem. But locked up in an apartment that is small with 2 people using nebulizers for breathing problems, there is no other alternative but to give him up. He is over five years old and very agile and playful for his age.

I’ve heard you need to give cats a shot when they eat birds or else they get parasites that can kill them.

Carolyn asked:
We have an aging male neutered cat who we adopted as a stray yrs ago. He is a diabetic & gets 2cc insulin twice/day. He also gets a strict diet of Feline DM, which is a canned cat food for diabetics. In Jan he showed noticable weight loss & lethargy & when we took him to the vet his intestines had to be manually cleaned out as he was not fully cleaning out. It cost us about $600. Now he is showing signs of the same problem, even tho he now gets a kitty laxitive. Does anyone know of a home remedy we could try to help him? We are far from rich & cannot afford to spend $600 every couple months to get him cleaned out. Thanks, J&C & Sam(the patient)

mom.of.2 asked: On Easter Sunday my Grandma sprayed febreeze directly into the cat’s face. The next day he was showing signs of illness. Today he was admitted into the animal hospital for liver problems. The cat is 9 years old.
Could it have been the spray or just coincendental?

Isis Is: PLEASE HELP MY KIDS!! asked:
i know my daughter in law posted a question not long ago about her cat peeing on her bed. someone suggested butter on the cats feet as a way to clean and relax (it didn’t work).
the cats been moved quite frequently. and spent sometime riding cross country in a big truck.
but the cat also vomits frequently. he was vetted just before they moved here to TN and had a UTI which has cleared up.
the cat is about 2 1/2 yrs, and she got him from a pet store (yuck i know, but she didn’t know how bad that could be). he’s never been tested for Feline Leukemia.
he has a beautiful velvety coat.
what are the symptoms for Fe. luke?
we’re going to have some blood work etc done, but right after the holidays plus my car breaking down, has limited our funds until next week. he doesn’t seem distressed. eating and drinking normally. other than fe. luke, what should i ask my vet to test for?
the cat has never been outside except on a leash when they were in the truck. he’s not in a truck anymore. they moved here a few weeks before Christmas.
and “K” keeps the litter box immaculate.
because he also used MY bed as a litter box, he’s now restricted to their room.

If you walk into an apartment and can smell the cat urine and it is very strong, can living in this environment cause health problems? AKA Kidney problems, stomach aches, head aches things of this nature. Would a person with a week immune system have more problems?
