My cat has caught three baby rats in the last few days in the garden. He has an unusual habit of licking me on the face. Is this a major health risk to me because of his contact with rats

My cat is kinda overweight, she’s about 4 and she weighs almost 20 pounds; she’s a fat cat. But anyways, is she going to have health problems from being so fat? Like, is she going to get diabetes or something? Oh, and please tell me how to get her to lose the weight?! I tried dieting her and she just got fatter then before! I don’t know what to do, i don’t want to lose my kitty to obesity =[ help?!

signs of Arthritis? I have an 9 year old cat. He has gone thru alot of his “lives” already, even only has one eye. He doesn’t jump up on counter tops anymore and doesn’t like me touching his hind legs anymore. Anyone have cats that stopped jumping at an old age…how long after did your cat pass after he or she stopped jumping up on furniture?

Can my cat get any health problems by nursing when she is not the mother nor ever has been one?

My cat has been nursing our newest kitten for about the past 2 months (I’m pretty sure no milk is produced and he does perfectly fine with his food). She is not his mother nor has she ever had kittens (she thinks she is his mom though). The kitten was 9 weeks when we got him and he started nursing from her a few weeks later. I thought it would stop relatively quickly since he was getting way too old to nurse but he is about 4 months now and she is still letting him nurse. Can she get any health problems from this or start having false pregnancies? If so how can i stop this behavior?

I was wondering if health inspectors inspect non-profit cat shelters in Ohio? If so then does any one know where I could find the laws and regulations the cat shelter would have to follow.

Tears were dripping one by one out of his eyes while he was licking the bottom of my ice cream bowl. He has never had any health problems, and that was the only time it happened. What caused that?

RunningBear asked:

Of course, we all try to practice good hygiene, but there are always times when my cat reaches out and licks my lips unexpectedly just after he’s been licking his butt, or when I’m not sure if he’s eaten something off my dinner plate when I had my back turned.
How worried and how careful should we be?
Oh I’m not phobic, just wondering.
