cat health?
Carolyn asked:
We have an aging male neutered cat who we adopted as a stray yrs ago. He is a diabetic & gets 2cc insulin twice/day. He also gets a strict diet of Feline DM, which is a canned cat food for diabetics. In Jan he showed noticable weight loss & lethargy & when we took him to the vet his intestines had to be manually cleaned out as he was not fully cleaning out. It cost us about $600. Now he is showing signs of the same problem, even tho he now gets a kitty laxitive. Does anyone know of a home remedy we could try to help him? We are far from rich & cannot afford to spend $600 every couple months to get him cleaned out. Thanks, J&C & Sam(the patient)

It’s no fun, and it’s very hard to do, but you could give your cat home enemas. This will keep his bowels cleaned out, but it sounds like your cat has other problems.
If you really love this cat and want to go through the trouble, you can ask your vet about getting an enema kit for the cat. When we had to do this with our cat, we had to wear a heavy leather coat, leather gloves, and hold the cat down to get him to take the enema. We did it in the bathtub. It’s messy, it’s not pleasant for the cat or for you, and with all of the other troubles your cat has, you may feel that it’s too much to put him through.
Before you do anything like this, talk to your vet about the procedure. It’s going to save you money at the expense of time, mess, and inconvenience. Our cat recovered from his problems because he was young and heathy besides his bowel problems. He went on to live a very long life.
Please consider your animal’s quality of life when making this decision. Good luck.

The cost so their students can see diabetes in cats as death notice when it being done its something to be do you and your cat.
The procedure for fraction of people see it doesnt have any colleges or vet schools or vet schools or vet schools in your area give.
