Your parents are what we call “irresponsible pet owners”. They get a pet and refuse to take care of it when it needs it. If you can, take it to a shelter. They MAY be able to do something, or they may have to put the cat to sleep….but at least it will not LINGER and die a slow death while your parents do nothing.

How old is your cat? Your cat could have hyperthyroidism, that makes them thin, vomit alot and weak, it’s treated with pills after a blood test. If not treated your cat will pass over the bridge I’m sorry to say. Your cat needs to see a vet. I would suggest asking your parents if you were sick wouldn’t they take you to a dr? so what’s different? a pet is a life form and why would want it to suffer when it could be treated. Neglecting a pet and letting it suffer is animal abuse and against the law, they need to responsible for the pet since they have it in the house. I would call a vet and ask advice and let the vet talk to your parents, put them on the spot.
