Cat Health

I’m eighteen living in a lonely apartment by myself and going to college. The apartment is rather small with three rooms. Would a cat be happy here? He would mostly be inside coped up while i’m in class 4-6 hours a day. I very frequently visit my parents and plan on taking him back and forth which is around a 30 minute drive both ways. I would just hate to get one and find out he’s not happy. Any idea what breed to go with for this situation?

I have had an unfixed male cat for almost 2 years and I have had him unfixed because I was using him for showing and breeding purposes (he is a registered Bengal). I recently decided to fix him because the spraying was getting out of control. In those 2 years though, he has sprayed the house hold up and down and while I try to keep up with where he sprays and attempt to get rid of all of his spots with special urine products, I can’t always find where he has sprayed. The smell is prominent in my apartment and as I move furniture around and attempt to find more spots, more areas that I didn’t even think he would spray in has been sprayed. Can inhaling the fumes from his spray cause any health problems? Since I have been inhaling these fumes for long periods of time, can that also cause problems? (and since there may be some spots that have been there for very long periods of time, that concerns me as well). Thanks for your responses!
