Monica asked: so my cat is a normal tabby cat..nine years old now..but hes always been a big cat ever since we got him and has always had flab hanging from his belly. hes always seemed like a healthy cat until a few years ago he got a urinary tract infection that he got terribly sick from, nearly death..but i tried very hard to nurse him back to health by force feeding him to get him to gain an appetite back…then he finally got better and better and after all that he got back to being just like he always was, acted just as young…and gained most of his weight back. now a few years later hes just as great only lately hes been sleeping in unusual places and acting a little different..like trying to eat my food (?) and things like that. Hes 9 now. im just wondering how long hes going to live because hes one of my favorite things in the world and im very scared to lose him.
anyone know the average cat life span to a cat similar to mine?
sorry for the long description..i just want to know more about my cats health.
could it be the season change? doesnt the weather minorly change the moods and way pets act?

patoooi asked:
I have heard that bells are harmful for cats, they disorient them and even can turn them deaf, besides such a permanent close noise being really annoying for an animal whose ears are much more sensitive than ours. Is this true?

I see a lot of strays near my house because I live in the city….. I am concerned because I love animals and I hate to see them suffer in heat all day long! I have one indoor cat myself, and I put food and water on my porch for the strays, but I need to know this because if their health is at risk I will call animal control to pick them up. Serious answers please!

Ok so last night he wasn’t anywhere and we shut them in the basement at night so we thought since he goes outside and he always comes back he’ll be alright. He ended up in the basement and now he seems awfully ill he won’t move around and he’s curled up in a tight ball. Also I normally cradle him like a baby and when I tried to hold him he started gagging what do I do?

While away I lock my cat in a little ‘cat room’, an 8×8 extra bedroom in my apartment. There is a china cabinet in there he loves to hide under. I took apart the cabinet and found the entire wall behind it was covered in fuzzy black mold from a leak our neighbors had months ago. The apartment is taking care of it, but do I need to be concerned for my cats health? He hasn’t shown any odd symptoms at all.

My dad has been feeding my cats a lot of eggs recently and we don’t like the idea of it (my mom, sister and I). One of them is somewhat heavy/flabby and 2 1/2 years old. The other is still growing and is a few months old. The eggs have mostly been fried. Is this really healthy for them?
Also, I know this isn’t about the eggs, but what age does a kitten have to be to get vaccinated and neutered?

I have an 18 yr old cat in good health, but she seems increasingly confused. (Meowing at walls, sitting in the middle of the road, chasing imaginary things, etc.) The vet said she is healthy.

signs of Arthritis? I have an 9 year old cat. He has gone thru alot of his “lives” already, even only has one eye. He doesn’t jump up on counter tops anymore and doesn’t like me touching his hind legs anymore. Anyone have cats that stopped jumping at an old age…how long after did your cat pass after he or she stopped jumping up on furniture?
